About Me
I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinema at Utah Valley University. I have also received an Associate's Degree in Art and Visual Communications, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing.
After receiving my BA, I successfully explored many areas of study including biotechnology, engineering, and forensic science. While I enjoyed my studies in these fields, I couldn't envision myself in a life-long career in them, and found myself drawn back to the creative realm of cinema production. After gaining experience in a number of crew positions, the area of film production to which I was most drawn was screen writing. I have continued to develop this skill, but also love the on-set experiences that grip and electric work, including gaffing, have provided me.
Art and writing have always been major influences in my life, from my advanced use of color in preschool watercolor paintings, to attending a young writers’ conference in sixth grade, to working as the art editor for my high school’s art and literature journal. I still put my art and English degrees to use through my hobbies, including painting, drawing, photography, and reading. I have also found an interest in acting and theater, which has allowed me to push myself outside the boundaries of my comfort zone.
Continuing my education, whether at a university, on my own time, or through vocational training, is of the utmost importance to me. I hope to continue learning new things throughout my career and life.
